Mission of the OIIP

The mission of the Office of Innovation and Intellectual Property is to enhance and support the university’s economic, academic, and social-based initiatives through the creation of economic value from the university’s intellectual assets.

An important goal of the Office is to be financially self-sustaining.

Goals

1. Facilitate the transfer of University-developed research results to industry for commercial development purposes.
2. Recognize and reward the creative efforts of faculty, staff and students of the University through the realization of tangible benefits (licensed-derived income) derived from their inventions.
